Peter Malins, who has worked on staff at New Hope Brisbane, has been on multiple trips to meet with the New Hope churches in Japan and build them up, starting with the New Hope Japan trip in 2006.

He is currently in Japan working with New Hope over there to help establish the Alpha Course.

About this, he wrote on his Facebook, "We had 70+ people at the introductory session of the Alpha course today at New Hope Tokyo!!! Amazing!!"
