I then moved to Brisbane, and worked for a company selling websites. During that time through a series of sad circumstances my first marriage broke down. I was at my lowest. I had lost this marriage of five years, the company that employed me went into liquidation. I felt like Job where everything was taken away. But in that valley, I saw the Lord more clearly than ever. I went through counselling with my pastor at Vineyard church Pine Rivers. It was a real time of brokenness and healing.

I felt like my potential of marriage and ministry was over. I thought I’d never marry again or be a pastor again. But our God is a God of second chances. He touched my dormant dreams.

I started another job in the IT industry. It was there that I started working closely beside Carol. She also attended my church. We had become great friends. Our boss said we were a good match, so he sent us out selling websites together. We had a ball! We would go on appointments, and pray and worship in the car together. We would laugh and talk all day long.

I fell in love, but prayed “Lord, I can’t tell her I love her. Because if she doesn’t love me and we have to work together it would be torture! I need another job!” On the same day I prayed this, the local Christian radio station offered me a position as Sales Manager. The day I accepted the new job I asked Carol out on our first date.
