Did the Lord givehim his Groove back?
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the LORD had brought upon him, and each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring. Job 42:10-11

In the world’s eyes it seems as though Job got his groove back because he prospered and was blessed in the latter part of his life. But Job never really lost his groove. His groove was his relationship with God, and no matter what was thrown at him, he stood firm on the Rock.

Sure it would have been a much better life after the sores, and the attacks and all his family and fortune taken away, to then be blessed and to have twice as much as he had before. But he was refined in the fire, and was proven to be faithful.

I love the last line in the book that says, he died old, and full of years. That’s how I want to die, full of years. Not with empty wasted years, but full of years. Years full of the stuff that God had called me too.

Lord, help me to keep my eyes on you and not on the things of this world. Thank you for all the wonderful blessings you’ve given me. Help me do the stuff you’ve called me to. Amen.
