Financial Testimony of a New Hope Brisbanite

My husband and I had a huge bad debt that we acquired before we ever dreamed of attending church. When I committed my life to Jesus I found out about tithing and I read all the scriptures and I remember saying to God that I will tithe but when I could afford to. Some months it was hard to cover the repayments on the loan so we just felt tithing was not for us as we couldn't afford it. As time went on we just made the minimum repayments on the debt but it felt like it hung over us, like a big black cloud and when we got married it caused a few tensions between us. Then we joined New Hope..... 

From the first time we visited we knew there was something different about this church and we knew we would make it our home. I knew within a few months that I needed to be obedient, step out and tithe with a generous, willing heart. Which was funny because my husband was looking for a job and we had just moved to Brisbane so we were even more stretched financially. But anyway I started tithing and once I took that step of faith, I actually felt totally peaceful about it.
