The BLOKES group have decided to change to Tuesday evenings, which they will be implementing on Tuesday, the 12th July 2011 at 6.45pm until the start of Alpha on Tuesday the 16th August 2011.

BLOKES Vision

The vision of BLOKES New Hope Brisbane is to provide Educational, Mentoring, and Counselling Services for the men of Brisbane.
All people carry around baggage (unresolved emotional issues or “rubbish”) that can become debilitating to oneself or to relationships – and a threat to normal expectations of life. None of us are comfortable with the idea of disclosing or bringing up these issues (unpacking one’s suitcase of baggage).
As men we can perceive our insecurities and problems as intensely personal and unique beyond remedy. As a result of this perceived twisted view, lots of men live with the results of their failures for their entire lives, only apparent to others through recognisable unusual behaviours that are seen to outsiders as peculiar and difficult to understand.

To sum up our vision:
    * A group of men committed to the survival of authentic manhood in the context of todays cultures and society values;
    * Are primarly concerned with the individual Aussie male, and his understanding of biblical manhood as the pathway to solving life's problems;
    * Blokes presents authentic manhood from a biblical perspective, and is convinced that significant life change occurs when men understand and apply these concepts.

The Men’s Series

Made in Australia for Aussie Blokes

Blokes at New Hope Brisbane are very excited to be running this DVD series. 

We invite all men who want to be encouraged and challenged in their life and faith to come along and join us.

The ‘Men’s Series’ is an 11 episode TV program filmed in Sydney in front of a live studio audience. Each episode focuses on an issue that men face in their Christian life and faith.

An expert guest shares insights on each issue and answers audience questions.

The hosts, Karl and Al also challenge men in a short teaching segment.

Some of the topics include Faith, Mates Health, Work, Finding your Passion, Marriage, Parenting, Depression and Anxiety.

The programs also include performances by Poet Cameron Semmens and Musicians such as Colin Buchanan, Simeon and Mike McCarthy.

BLOKES Outdoor Activities
1. Footy
At least 2 times a year there is a competition between old blokes and the young ones. Always followed by a relaxing fellowship barbecue, in any Brisbane Park.

2. Breakfast
A Blokes breakfast is a great way to catch up with mates and develop relationships with others. An opportunity to talk about real stuff that matters in our lives. It is a time where we can feed our heart to grow in the male journey.

3. Camping
Our last 3 camping adventures have been to Mt Warning, Moreton Island and Bribie Island. Camping is a great blokes' activity with a sense of adventure in exploring new surroundings. Blokes working together, putting up tents, cooking on open fires, catching fish, chasing away wild life (who seem to like our choice of food) playing cards and a few silly stores. Amongst this fun adventure, we also find time for some serious and Godly discussion.
