| Alice Springs Trips 09 |
![]() In November 2008, while in prayer the Lord spoke two words to my heart, “Go West”. I shared this with the New Hope Mission Team that went to India. We prayed about this and sensed that God was calling us to go preach the gospel in Alice Springs, Central Australia. So I decided to organize and lead a mission team (7 people) to Alice Springs, Ayres Rock and Yuendumu in June 2009 for a one week visit. This first mission trip took on a networking and intercessory prayer emphasis. We connected with many strategic Christian leaders in Alice Springs including Vivian (Teen Challenge), Stephanie (Chaplin of Hospital) and Cherry (an Aboriginal Elder and intercessor) and Pastor Terry Medling (New Life Ministries). We experienced powerful times of prayer and revival during the church meetings we attended. One of the highlights of the trip was climbing Ayres Rock around noon and having a prayer time at the summit. In December 2009, I led another mission team (7 people) to Alice Springs for a 9-day healing and revival crusade organized by Pastor Terry Medling. Our team helped missionaries Mark and Michelle Cashen with their teaching sessions and ministry in the morning. While at night our team assisted Evangelist Neville Gray with praying for peoples needs at the end of the messages. The morning teaching sessions were held in the local youth hall. While the evening open-air gospel meetings were held next door at the local sporting ground (Anzac Park). During the ministry times many people were healed of sicknesses, set free from bondages and changed by the truth of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. One of the core goals of these mission trips is to see the indigenous people of Central Australia trained, equipped and empowered to preach, teach and demonstrate the gospel with Kingdom Authority and power.
